The “Why” Behind Some of our Guest Policies
Q: Why can my guests only come to the club once every thirty days?
A: This policy is in place to protect the value of the membership and the member experience. When the club opened, Rochester and surrounding community residents (up to 60 miles away) could only come to the club with a member once every sixty-days. This policy changed to every thirty-days about six years ago based on member feedback.
Q: Why do guests need to bring their driver’s license or ID?
A: A couple reasons:
- Security. It is important that we know who is in the club. If something happens, it is very important to have accurate information on our guests.
- People are who they say they are. Most people would be surprised what some people do to try and gain access to the club. To avoid the thirty-day policy above, people have tried giving us fake or different names.
Q: Why does it take so much time to register a guest?
A: We have to register each first time guest into our club software system, it naturally takes time. When there are multiple guests, the process has to be done individually for each guest. If a guest needs a locker, we have to also enter that guest into our locker software. The process is quicker for someone that has been a guest in the past and is already in our software.
Q: Why don't you give away guest passes to members?
A: If we gave away guest passes, the club would become busier. We never want an influx of guests to affect the member experience in a negative way. We also realize that members like bringing guests to the club. It is part of a positive member experience for some of our members. Membership is the least expensive way to access to the club. Guest fees are priced higher than what a member pays to have regular access to the club. As a thank you to our members, we discount the guest fees for guests of members. Guest fees are higher for out of town guests.
Members also have access to guest passes through our RAC Perks program. They are by far our most popular redeemed RAC Perk.
