Youth Swim Classes

Our swim lesson curriculum is designed to help your child gain greater confidence and safety in, on, and around the water. Your child will be exposed to the joys of swimming by a certified Starfish Aquatic Institute Instructor or Red Cross equivalent. View individual class level information in the expandable sections below. Contact Aquatics Director Whitney Benedetti at (507) 287-9314 with any questions.

Sign up: Register through the Activities Desk at (507) 287-9300 or members can also sign up online through their Empower M.E. Member Login. If you are not set up, see our Create a Member Login webpage.

Note: We will use the first day of class as an assessment day to make sure that all students in each class are at the appropriate level. Also, during each class, a portion of time will be dedicated to safety issues and/or skills.

Advancing levels: Please remember that it may take your child more than one session to successfully complete a level. Many factors, such as attendance, coordination, growth spurts, development, and maturity level, affect the students’ progression through the levels. Remaining at the same level should not be interpreted as not improving or not achieving success.
