Pickleball

Indoor Courts:

Any of our four indoor pickleball courts can be reserved for $10/hour. Pickleball courts are located on Tennis Courts 4 and 5. The court fee can be divided between two (singles) or four (doubles) players.

Outdoor Courts:

During the outdoor court season, pickleball may be played for free on Outdoor Pickleball Courts 1-8. Reservations are still required.

Outdoor Pickleball Open Play

Join us Monday through Saturday mornings for informal pickleball play for adults (senior high school graduates or persons aged 19 and older). Bring your own paddle and ball. Max 20 players/session.

Sign up each week by the day. There is NO indoor pickleball Open Play after April 30th. No sign-up sheet on court. The RAC app or Activities Desk sign-up is your sign-up sheet.

Location: Outdoor Pickleball Courts #1-4.

Inclement Weather: In case of inclement weather Outdoor Pickleball Open Play will be cancelled. Indoor Courts might be open for regular court reservations.

Spring/Summer Pickleball Leagues

Spring Leagues: Monday, May 5 – Sunday, June 22 (7 weeks)

Summer Leagues: Monday, July 7 – Sunday, August 24 (7 weeks)

A 40 player league open to all abilities and genders. All pickleball leagues are doubles and run 7 weeks. Leagues are non-DUPR leagues so your results will not be entered into DUPR. League play will be outdoors on Pickleball Courts 1-8 (no make-ups if inclement weather occurs).

Monday Noon League:
Mondays 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Tuesday Evening League:
Tuesdays 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

League Fee: $35/player covers the 7 week session

Our Pickleball Leagues, with their flexible structure and weekly adjustments, accommodate players looking for high level competitive matches (Courts 1-4) as well as more recreational players looking for an introduction to match play in a fun, relaxed atmosphere (Courts 5-8).

Each week for a total of 7 weeks you have 5 players on one court, rotating partners with one player taking a breather every four games. Games are to 11 win by 2. You will play a total of 8 games and sit out twice. Score cards will be on court for players to record their own scores. Courts are booked for 2.5 hours so all games can be completed. First week players are paired in groups of 5 players and assigned a start court based upon knowledge of player’s ability.

After each week, two players (two highest point totals) will move up a court, two players (two lowest point totals) will move down a court and one player stays. Top court: three players stay and two move down. Bottom court: two players move up and three players stay. Day schedules and player rotations will be prepared by the pickleball coordinator.

In case a player can’t make a match day he/she must inform the RAC Pickleball coordinator at least one day prior to league. If a sub list is available the league coordinator will try to find a sub. If no sub is found a court will run with just 4 players (six games and no sitting out).

A 90-minute introduction to pickleball for those who have experience with other racquet sports. Class covers rallying, dinking, serving, scoring, and strategies unique to pickleball. Each session will end with beginning match play.

Held from 1:00 – 2:30 pm on:

Saturday, March 8

Children 10 and older can register if a parent is also participating. Maximum of 16 participants.

Fee:
Members: $15/day    Non-Members: $30/day
