About

Kat is from Winona, Minnesota but has spent most of her career in Los Angeles. She moved to Rochester in 2021 when she had her son. Kat is a professional dancer. She currently works for the NBA and WNBA, and performs at Timberwolves and Lynx games throughout the season. Kat enjoys weight lifting, dance, cooking, and going to the park with her son.

What are some of your specialties?

Because of my dance background, I can create the best weight training program that will support what dancers do in the studio. Also because of my own journey with post-partum exercise and recovery, I have experience with Diastasis Recti and how to repair it using breath and exercise.

What classes do you teach?

I teach Baby & Me every week. This class provides a chance for babies and their parents to dance, sing, and learn physical therapy exercises that support fine and gross motor growth.

What is your approach to training?

My approach to training is focused on function and form. I believe in giving everyone the best chance to stay mobile for a lifetime. I tell my clients I want them to be able to go on vacations, go to parks with their kids and grandkids, and be able to take stairs, no matter their age. I believe quality of life is often affected by mobility.

What led you to the RAC?

I like that the RAC is family focused. Not only does the RAC have a space for kids to go when members are working out, the RAC also allows infants in carriers/strollers to be on the fitness floor in safe, designated areas. As a trainer, I also allow infants to be present during a workout session in our designated locations. Parents of newborns have the opportunity to prioritize exercise.
