Francisco was born and raised in Bajos de Haina, Dominican Republic (DR). He moved to Rochester, MN in July 2021 to marry his wife whom he met on a medical mission trip in the DR where he was an English/Spanish translator. Sports and physical fitness have always been his passion. He was protected by the Colorado Rockies MLB team as a pitcher but an elbow injury deterred his career. He then developed a love for basketball in which he played and coached semi-professionally in the DR. He worked as a personal trainer for three years before moving to the US.
What led you to the RAC?
My wife is a member of the club and introduced me to the facility. I was in awe of all of the equipment, the expanse of the club including the courts, fitness floor, pool, etc. It was unrivaled to the resources we have in the DR.
Interests
I like meeting new people and traveling. I’ve enjoyed exploring my new country with my wife before we welcome our baby in the fall.
What is something you wish people knew about exercise?
Having the correct posture and movement will lead to better results and limit the potential for injuries.
What do you enjoy about being a personal trainer?
I enjoy being able to show people how they can change their life through exercise and maintaining good health. I also enjoy encouraging people to reach the next level in their fitness journey.
