Jessie has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness as well as her NASM personal training certification. She loves running and competed as a Division 1 Track and Field and Cross Country athlete during her college days. Most of the time you can find Jessie chasing sunshine and the outdoors with her kids in tow.
What are some of your specialties?
I love working with runners and helping them gain functional strength to help them with their running goals. I am also passionate about prenatal/postpartum fitness and added that on to my certifications when I was expecting my first child. My hope is to help spread knowledge and help others feel confident in how to continue their exercise journey through those big life changes.
What is something you wish people knew about exercise?
So often I feel that people look at exercise with a “grin and bear it” approach. True, sometimes it will feel that way, but I wish people knew it doesn’t always have to. My goal as a trainer is to help my clients find a way to exercise that is enjoyable and sustainable for them. I wholeheartedly believe there is a way for everyone to enjoy moving their bodies –they are designed to move, after all!
Do you have a favorite exercise quote?
I find this quote from Confucius to be important to remember when trying to improve any aspect of ourselves, “our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
