Member and Guest Expectations

We want everyone to have a positive and safe experience when using the Rochester Athletic Club.

Because the RAC is a shared space, please be aware that we have the following expectations for members and guests:

  • Treat others and staff with respect.
  • Treat equipment and facilities with respect.
  • Share equipment and spaces reasonably – realize we have a limited amount of space and equipment and that others need to get in their workout, too.
  • Act safely in areas – others shouldn’t need to worry that you will impede their workout space and may lack the mobility to react to or may be blindsided by unsafe horseplay or activity.
  • Limit noise/loudness – be aware of your surroundings and that others are trying to peacefully workout.

Throughout the club and club grounds:

  • Be aware of and follow the general rules of the club. For specific club locations, go to the heading below.
  • Youth supervision and behavior are of high importance. Please familiarize yourself with age policies if you have children on your membership.

We appreciate you taking the time to understand the expectations of club membership.  It is important to understand that if you or someone on your membership (or your guests) are unable to meet these expectations, there may be consequences, including suspension or termination of membership.

Club Etiquette Resource

A few years ago, we gathered some information about club etiquette from a variety of sources and created a Club Etiquette webpage. The intention was that it would, in a more informal manner, help someone gain an awareness of how a member's actions can affect others.

Please be aware that the ideas and rules presented on the Club Etiquette webpage may not all perfectly align with our current policies.
